It is with great sadness and shock to announce that the current National Bantamweight champion Habeeb “IGE” Oladeji (5-1-1-2KOs) a.k.a Firefighter has passed away.
The news of his death was confirmed today, September 2nd, 2023.
According to report, Ige finished training at his gym yesterday(Friday) morning in Ibadan as he continued his preparation for his upcoming fight on September 24th in lagos, however after the training, Ige complained of not feeling fine that he needed some rest and he went home.
It’s so unfortunate to hear that he passed away this morning and he has been buried according to the Islamic rite.
Ige who has five wins, one loss, one draw with two wins coming by the way of TKO he is ranked no. 1 in Nigeria in the bantamweight division and 236 in the world.
He will always be remembered by the boxing fraternity as one of the brightest talents in Nigeria, whose fighting style embodied exactly how he lived.
