Three Nigeria Clubs will be facing their North African counterparts on Sunday.
The game scheduled for 4pm at PortHarcourt, Abuja and Lagos will be a game of goals between both sides.
Rivers United will be playing CAF Champions League winners, Wydad Athletics while Plateau United away from home at Abuja will be facing Esperance of Tunisia.
The only club in the CAF confederations cup, Kwara United will play against defending Champions, RS Berkane at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
In all of these games, a certainty is the downpouring of goals at match venues today.
Wydad Athletics, who are currently the league toppers in the Moroccan Botola league, will be facing Rivers United in a top clash encounter. Meanwhile, the Moroccan side have lost just one game in their last five games. They have scored eight goals and conceded five in all the encounters.
Aside from the last CAF games, Rivers United have not played any competitive game except friendlies against Bayelsa United.
Rivers United have never defeated a North African side since playing against them in the CAF inter-club games.
In the same vein, Esperance de Tunis who are opponents to Plateau United are regular customers in the CAF Champions League.
Esperance’s last performance in the Champions League ended at the knockout stage.
However, this isn’t the first time Esperance will be playing a Nigerian side in the CAF inter-club competition. The last time they played was against Sunshine Stars which ended in a two victory for the Tunisian in 2012.
Kwara United will be at loggerhead against Confederations Cup defending Champions, RS Berkane today at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
Although, there isn’t any bit of history between Kwara United and Berkane but what’s certain between both sides is their attacking prowess.
