After strings of poor results, the defending champions of the CAF Confederation Cup RS Berkane of Morocco have sacked its manager Abdelhak Benchikha.
The Moroccan side emerged as the winner of the competition last season when they defeated Orlando Pirates of South Africa via a penalty shootout at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The head coach of the team then Florent Ibenge decided to part ways with the club and Abdelhak was appointed.
Since his appointment, Berkane has failed to live up to expectations and they have struggled in the Moroccan Botola league.
Berkane was responsible for the ouster of Nigeria’s Kwara United in the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The club management decided to sack the manager on Friday afternoon after they lost out to US Monastir of Tunisia in the playoff round of the confederation cup.
