Nigeria’s representative in the CAF Confederation Cup Rivers United is set to start their journey in the competition this weekend.
The Pride of Rivers was drawn bye in the last round following their quarter-final finish in last year’s tournament.
The team under technical adviser Stanley Eguma arrived in Lagos on Thursday evening ahead of their departure to Ivory Coast on Friday.
Rivers United will be the guest of Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the first leg of the second preliminary round.
The Burkinese club adopted Yammossuoukro as their home ground after the national stadium in Ouagadougou failed to get CAF approval.
The first leg game is scheduled for Sunday and the reverse fixture will take place at the Adoke Amasiamaka stadium in Port-Harcourt.
