The manager of the Moroccan giant Wydad Casablanca Houcine Ammota has maintained that the pitch was the reason they lost the game to Rivers United.
The Pride Of Rivers came from a goal down to beat the defending champions 2-1 at the Adoke Amasiamaka stadium.
The manager insisted that the Nigeria side is not better than his players and further promised an interesting game in the second leg.
” The first goal that was scored I can’t judge if it was offside by my position when we go back home we watch the camera, that is when I can give judgement about the goal.
We were affected by the soil and texture of the field and it didn’t allow us to play a good game.
We created many scoring opportunities but we never used them, we control the game very well.
We will have a very interesting match in the second leg and we are going to prepare adequately for it”, he said.
The second is fixed for October 16th at the famous Mohammed V Sports Complex this weekend.
