Ahead of the first leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against Ghana’s premier league champion Medeama SC, the captain of the Nigeria representative Remo Stars Nduka Junior said they’ve learned their lesson from last season.
Remo Stars last season played in the Confederation Cup, and crashed out to ASFAR of Morocco in the first round despite picking a valuable away draw in Rabat.
The Nigerian side will play the first leg away to the Ghanaian side this weekend and Junior believes they have what it takes to upstage Medeama SC.
“We learned from our last early outing on the continent.
“We know they are champions in Ghana, but we are also champions in our own right. We will play our best football on two legs”, he said.
After the first leg at the Cape Coast Stadium this weekend, Remo Stars will host the second leg at the Remo Stadium in Ikenne next weekend.
