English Championship side Watford FC has announced the managerial changes to the team as the league is set to resume this weekend.
The club on Monday announced the contract termination of Rob Edward as the manager of the team after just 10 games in the charge.
Few hours later the club board announced the appointment of the former Croatia defender Slaven Bilic as the new manager of the team.
” Watford FC confirms Slaven Bilić as its new Head Coach on an 18-month contract, subject to receiving the relevant work permit.
He replaces Rob Edwards who, along with assistant Richie Kyle, has left the Vicarage Road
“As with all decisions taken by the Board, I believe this change to be in the best interests of the club,” says Hornets’ owner Gino Pozzo of the move.
“We felt Rob had enough time to show us the identity of his team, however performances haven’t reflected our hopes and ambitions.
“Now we must move forward, and, in Slaven Bilić, we have secured the services of an experienced coach who has recent experience of promotion to the Premier League”, the club statement read.
