According to the update coming from the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football ( CAF), the 2024 edition of the Championship of African Nations ( CHAN) is set to be postponed.
The hosting right of the competition has been awarded to the trio of Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya as a dress rehearsal for the 2027 African Cup of Nations.
The qualifier for the 2024 edition of the competition was initially scheduled to start earlier in the year but it’s yet to commence up to date.
With the qualifier yet to kick off, the football body is nursing the ambition of shifting the tournament to 2025 as the 2025 AFCON is likely to take place in the winter of 2026.
The last edition of CHAN was held in Algeria and Senegal emerged as the winner.
