The Athletics Integrity Unit ( AIU) has confirmed that it has dragged Nigerian and World women’s 100-meter hurdle champion Tobi Amusan to the Court of Arbitration For Sports ( CAS).
AIU provisionally suspended Amusan before the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary but he was later cleared to compete in the event.
Amusan stunned the World again on Sunday in the Diamond League that was held in Eugene, Oregon as she won the gold medal with a season of 12.33sec.
The AIU on Monday confirmed that the case has been charged to CAS for further clarification and they will have to wait for the court verdict
” The AIU filed an appeal last Friday (15 September 2023) with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Disciplinary Tribunal’s decision, dated 17 August 2023, that Tobi Amusan did not commit an anti-doping rule violation for Whereabouts Failures.
The AIU will make no further comment on the matter until the conclusion of the appeal”, the statement read.
