Nigeria’s D’Tigers have experienced a significant setback in the latest FIBA Rankings, falling 18 places to 37th in the world. This drop in ranking comes on the heels of their disappointing performance in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers held in Lagos a few weeks ago, where they failed to advance.
In the newly released FIBA Rankings, D’Tigers accumulated 334.9 points, maintaining their 37th position globally and 5th in Africa. At the top of the African rankings, South Sudan, fresh from their qualification for the Olympic Games, claimed the number one spot in Africa and 31st place worldwide.
The African Top 10 now stands as follows:
1. South Sudan
2. Ivory Coast
3. Angola
4. Tunisia
5. Nigeria
6. Egypt
7. Cape Verde
8. Senegal
9. Cameroon
10. Dr Congo
