Barely 10 days to the end of the summer transfer window, the manager of the English championship side Leicester City Enzo Maresca has said they need to clarify the position of Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
Despite that he’s yet to score this season, the Nigerian international has been a key figure in the lineup of the Foxes.
But he’s one of the players that is likely to be sold before the end of the transfer as he has 12 months left on his contract.
The Argentine boss has made clear that Iheanacho’s position must be sorted out soon.
” This is one of the things that is on the table. It’s one of the things we need to discuss with the player. Most of the time we think about the club, but we need to see the desire of the player.
We have to decide between the player, club, and manager. It’s one of the things we need to do soon to clarify the situation.
“Kele played against Coventry, very well. He played the other day, with a goal, and an assist. It’s one of the things I said from day one that to realise something important, you need players who are out on the bench but when they go inside, they are a boost for the team”, the gaffer said.
