The poor performance of the English premier league side Everton FC continue on Saturday as they suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Southampton FC at Goodison Park.
Injured Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi made a surprise return to the squad after being ruled out for 3 weeks.
The former Arsenal midfielder sustained an ankle injury in a cup game after a horrendous tackle from the Manchester United defender Malacia.
According to the Everton medics, Iwobi was expected to be out for 3 weeks but recovered in time to be available for the clash against the Saint.
Andre Onana gave the host lead in the game before a brace from James Ward-Prose condemned them to another defeat and heightened pressure on the manager Frank Lampard.
