The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has banned Russia from participating in qualification for Euro 2024 following the invasion of Ukraine.
“Russia is therefore not included in the Uefa European Football Championship 2022-24 qualifying draw.” said in a statement by Uefa.
The country’s club sides were banned from this season’s Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League with Uefa also ending Russian energy giant Gazprom’s sponsorship deal.
The 2022 Champions League final was originally set to be played in St Petersburg, but was moved to Paris. The women’s team were also excluded from this summer’s European Championship, with Portugal taking their place.
Though Russia appealed the bans to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), but it was dismissed in July.
The draws for Euro 2024, will be hosted Frankfurt, Germany on 9 October.
