Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have crashed out of the ongoing 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana.
The Nigerian side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Uganda in the opening group game before labouring to beat South Sudan in the second match.
They faced Senegal in the final group game on Friday and it was never meant to be as they lost 3-2 to the 10-man Junior Teranga Lions.
Charles Agada put Nigeria ahead but two quick-fire goals from Idriss Gueye took over the game for Senegal.
Favour Izuogu equalised for Nigeria but the 66th-minute penalty from Famara Camara earned Senegal a well-deserved 3-2 win.
It means Senegal and Uganda have qualified for the semi-final while Nigeria and South Sudan bowed out of the group stage.
