Leipzig takes a trip to Manchester for the return leg of their UCL tie against Manchester City at the Etihad stadium. The German club was able to get a 1-1 draw at the Red Bull Arena in the first leg and was hoping to qualify for the quarter-finals ahead of the Citizens.
Pep Guardiola’s boys were in serious business mode as they scored three goals in the first half courtesy of Erling Haaland’s fifth hat-trick of the season giving them a 4-1 advantage in the tie.
The Citizens didn’t stop there, they came into the second half looking for more goals and got one within 4 minutes into the second half through Iklay Gundogan.
Man City was in absolute control of the game and was rewarded with two goals from Erling Haaland again to make it 6-0 to Man City and Haaland getting his fifth goal of the match.
At this point, the game was already over as Manchester city slowly saw at the game and got another goal through Kevin De bruyne, and without an atom of doubt Man city is heading to the quarter-finals spot with the draw happening this Friday.
