Ahead of the crunch tie against Chelsea, Nigeria’s Super Eagles Ola Aina has made it clear that he has no grudges against his former team.
Aina spent the early part of his career with the Blues before he left the team permanently in 2019 for Torino in the Italian Serie A.
Before his departure, he made a few appearances for the former European champions.
Nottingham Forest will host Chelsea on Saturday and Aina is expected to be in action for the crucial match for his relegation-threatened club
The Nigerian international revealed that he’s a Chelsea fan but he will give his best in the game.
“I don’t know if this is going to get me in trouble, but I am a Chelsea fan. It’s a fixture I’ve been looking forward to and I’m excited to be involved in it to see what happens.
“I don’t think there’s any point to prove. I don’t hold grudges or anything – whatever happened in the past happened. There’s no animosity there. It’s just the career of a footballer. I only have fond moments of being at Chelsea.
It’s a chapter that closed and [I’ve] moved on, just how anyone else would”, he said.
