Lobi Stars Vice Chairman and CEO, Mr. Dominic Iorfa has debunked the news of his arrest by the anti-graft agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC)
The veteran football administrator made this known in a press release personally signed by the ex-internation on Wednesday.
According to him, “it has come to my attention via Social media albeit a completely false and malicious report, that I was arrested/detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Makurdi Zonal Office.
It is true that some unknown entities strangely called Benue State Stakeholders Forum wrote a petition whose contents were principally aimed at tarnishing my image and reputation for no apparent reason.
To put the record straight, my associates were invited for clarifications by the anti-graft body which is part of their extant duties to ascertain the authenticity or otherwise of the allegations contained in the petition, as their associates for over 15 years and as responsibility demands, I went to the office of the anti-graft agency without being arrested as speculated falsely and wickedly to throw more lights on the spurious allegations.
Be that as it may, the petition is being professionally investigated by the competent officials of the EFCC and I want to make it abundantly clear that none of my associates were detained in the EFCC custody.
