Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Friday beat Haiti 2-1 in the first of two friendlies arranged by the NFF at the Emir Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey as part of their preparations ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Saint-Étienne striker Esther Okoronkwo opened scoring for the nine-time Africa champions in the 40th minute of the game before Asisat Oshoala got the second in the 58th minute in her first appearance for the Super Falcons since her injury at the last WAFCON in Morroco
China-based former Super Falcons captain Desire Oparanozie was brought off the substitute bench in place of the goalscorer, Okoronkwo in the 65th minute.
Haiti reduced the deficit as they profited from a defensive mixup to get one goal back in the 75th minute
Nigeria will play her second friendly game next Tuesday against New Zealand to continue its preparations for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup
