Having recorded two assists in West Ham’s victory over Chelsea last weekend, the England midfielder was on song again today when the London side defeated Brighton at the Amex Stadium
The England International opened his goalscoring account for Westham in their 3-1 win over Brighton& Hove Albion.
The former Saints’ skipper gave David Moyes’ side the lead in the 19th minute with a cool finish.
Jarrod Bowen destined the Hammers’ lead in the 58th minute from a brilliant counterattack that saw him combine with Michail Antonio.
Bowen would return the favour in the 63rd minute when he prodded the ball towards Antonio’s path who slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Nine minutes before the end of stoppage time, Pascal Gross scored the consolation goal for Brighton.
The victory marks the end of Brighton’s impeccable start to the season and Moyes’ first win over the Seagulls as a Westham manager.
