The impressive performance of Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the just concluded Women’s World Cup seems to have yielded a dividend as they moved up in the latest FIFA rankings.
Falcons surprisingly reached the second round of the tournament without losing a single match at the group stage.
They put up another scintillating performance in the round of 16 and it took England’s penalty shoot-out to edge them out.
According to the ranking that was released on Friday morning, the 9-time African champions now ranked 32nd in the World as against the 40th position they ranked in the last ranking.
Super Falcons will be back in action next month when they face Ethiopia in the Olympics qualifier.
