The immediate past 1st Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, has donated a sum of an N1million to the Flamingoes for winning the bronze medal at the just concluded FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India.
A record-breaking performance from the Flamingoes, becoming only the second African Nation to reach the semi-final of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup after Ghana in 2012, with both sides winning the bronze medal.
This is Nigeria’s first medal in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, despite participating in six editions of the competition, reaching the quarter-finals three times.
Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi has joined a list of people who have promised the soaring Flamingoes money after achieving this feat.
The girls are expected to land in Nigeria before the end of this week.
