On Saturday, April 28, during a match between KRC Genk and Club Brugge, Tolu Arokodare, a Nigerian striker for KRC Genk, experienced a concerning incident. In the 64th minute of the game, Arokodare collided with Club Brugge’s goalkeeper, Nordin Jackers, which caused him to fall to the ground and require immediate medical attention.
Despite Arokodare’s attempts to get back on his feet and continue playing, he was unable to do so and was replaced by Swiss attacker Andi Zeqiri. The match ended in a 3-0 victory for Club Brugge.
Following the incident, Arokodare was immediately taken to the hospital for a thorough medical evaluation. Fortunately, the results showed that he had not suffered any major complications. However, his doctors advised him to take six days off for full recovery. KRC Genk’s medical team will continue to monitor his condition daily.
It’s important to note that Arokodare has been a key player for Genk this season, having scored nine goals and provided two assists in 32 Jupiler Pro League games. His performances have been instrumental to the team’s success.
This incident has left fans and teammates hoping for a swift and full recovery for Arokodare. We all look forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon.
