The organiser of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League season has confirmed that the remaining fixtures will go on hold after this weekend.
The match day 31 of the league will commence on Friday with a game involving Heartland FC and Shooting Stars.
But the Secretary of the club owners Godwin Enakhena while speaking to the Punch correspondent stated that all other matches will be put on hold for Rivers United to complete their games.
” The decision to suspend other matches is to allow Rivers United play their outstanding games was made by the league managers and we are all in supports.
The club owners didn’t have to press that because it was the right thing to do and it was done.
Don’t forget that this is the crucial stage of the league.
” The Gbenga Elegbeleye-led NPFL board has a very difficult job to and they are doing their best to ensure that we have a league we all be very proud of but there are human challenges that they’re battling with and so far, I’ll give them a pass mark”, he said.
