Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Group B leaders will on Wednesday December 6th 2023, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Benin-City host the new comers to the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Ekiti Queens FC in Match Day four of the NWFL premiership.
Edo Queens who are at the top of their game currently will be going for a stellar display against Ekiti Queens with the mindset of snatching the three maximum points needed to keep the Benin- based Queens in top contention for the Super Six ticket.
Ekiti Queens who sit second to the last in Group B of the abridged NWFL would be in for a big battle against the Godwin Obaseki ladies as they would be fighting to regain recognition. But for the Moses Aduku- led girls, the three points is not negotiable.
Despite coming into the premiership this season, Edo Queens and Ekiti Queens have met twice this year, the first was during 2023 edition of the Sheroes Cup pre- season tournament held in Abuja. In that encounter, resilient Edo Queens humbled Ekiti Queens in a breathless four – goal thriller. while the second clash was during Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament BOWFT. They also suffered devastating defeat to Edo Queens.
All in all, this does not mean that they are push over, as the game of football is full of surprises. Ekiti Queens are coming to play the game of their lives in Benin. No matter who is leading their squad, Edo Queens are equal to the task and fully ready to stand tall before their opponents, as the Sports Commission Chairman Yusuf Alli has charged them to keep the momentum on.
