Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro has bidded Nigeria’s Super Eagles farewell after spending almost 2 years in charge of the team.
The former Venezuela manager was appointed in 2022 under the former Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick.
Despite strong criticism, Peseiro was able to lead Nigeria to the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
“Yesterday, we concluded our contract with the NFF. It was a pride and an honour to coach the Super Eagles.
It was 22 months of immense dedication, sacrifice, emotion and enormous enthusiasm. We have a feeling of satisfaction.
We would like to express our gratitude to Sir Amaju Pinnick (the president who signed the contract for us), President Ibrahim Gusau, Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi, Secretary Dayo Enebi, the NFF, all the staff and especially all the players, who it was a great pleasure to lead. We are grateful; It was a privilege to be part of this family.
We will miss you, but we will always be by your side, wherever you are. A big hug to all of you”, he announced
