Shooting Stars under its Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote have progressed to the final of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup following a 3-1 victory over Sunshine Stars for the second consecutive time.
Aside from being a derby game, it was also a reunion for both sides’ managers as they faced their former clubs.
Hussain Abdallah drew the first blood for the Oluyole Warriors in the 19th minute from a rebound kick before Ejike Uzoechi scored an equaliser from the spot three minutes before halftime.
The second half eventually produced two more goals for the Warriors from Anthony Okachi’s 66th minute strike and 93rd minute penalty from Joshua Akpan.
Therefore, Ogunbote with Shooting Stars will be tying knots with his former side, Remo Stars who defeated Sporting Lagos via a lone goal on Wednesday for the second consecutive final between both sides.
The game is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 1st October.
