Bayer Leverkusen and Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has won the Bundesliga Rookie Player of the Month award for September.
Boniface won the award ahead of RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Maximilian Beier of Hoffenheim to clinch the award for the second consecutive month.
The former Union SG striker had 25 shots on goal in September, he scored four goals in the month under review after he bagged a brace in both the 4-1 win over Darmstadt and 5-1 victory against Heidenheim.
Boniface is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles after featuring in the friendly match against Saudi Arabia on Friday and he’s also in contention for a place in Monday’s game against Mozambique
