Multiple reports coming from France have revealed that the Incoming coach of the French Women’s National team Hervé Renard has taken a massive pay cut to return to his country to lead the senior women’s national team to the fast-approaching FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in July.
The official announcement of Renard, a coach with loads of experience in international soccer but who never led a women’s team before is expected before the end of the week, just over two weeks after the country’s soccer federation fired its longtime women’s coach, Corinne Diacre, in the face of player’s revolt.
Hervé Renard’s salary with the France women’s national team will be 300 thousand euros annually, lower than €1.1M he received as an annual salary with the Saudi national team.
It has also been gathered that The French Federation paid €5M to the Saudi Federation for the termination of Herve Renard’s contract.
France will compete in Group F of the world cup alongside Panama, Jamaica, and Brazil
