The world soccer governing body has announced Saudi Arabia as the next host of the FIFA Club World Cup competition.
The last edition of the tournament was held in Morocco and European champions Real Madrid emerged as the winner after a 4-1 win over African champions Al Ahly.
The Kingdom’s choice to host the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup is the latest milestone in the development of Saudi football, which comes after Saudi Arabia decides to host the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, while the Kingdom also submitted the file to host the 2026 AFC Women’s Cup.
The competition is slated to take place from December 12 to 22, 2023 and Saudi Arabia is the 6th country to host it since inception.
