Ministry of youth and sports development under Hon. Sunday Dare and the Nigeria Football Federation have concluded plans to pay the outstanding salaries of Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro.
The Portuguese gaffer in the past few days threatened to take the football federation to the World soccer governing for non-payment of 6 monthly salaries.
While speaking to BBC Sports Africa one of NFF’s top officials disclosed that they in conjunction with the Sports ministry have reached an agreement to pay the coach very soon.
“We’ve heard from Mr. Peseiro’s representatives that he only received his allowances and bonuses, which is very disturbing,” a prominent NFF official told BBC Sport Africa.
“His salary is being paid by the Sports Ministry but we’ve quickly made an alternative arrangement, in conjunction with the Ministry, to sort the salary payments this week”, he added.
