Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Uche Uchebo has lamented what he went through during his stay with the Portuguese Primera Liga club Boavista.
The lanky attacker was one of the key players at the Bessa stadium in the 2014/2015 season before the relationship turned sour
While speaking to the Portugal news outlet O’Ojogo, Uchebo said he started well with the club until the situation nosedive
“I really enjoyed the first year, it was a nice league for me and Portugal was a big place in my life. I was very successful at that time, this victory was very celebrated, and I know that clubs like Sporting and Braga asked for me.
They didn’t let me leave. Nothing has ever been the same.
“I didn’t understand what happened, several problems appeared, I didn’t do anything but they treated me badly, relations got complicated, even though I really liked the fans.
Unfortunately, I didn’t maintain contact due to that and they tried to cut everyone’s ties with me.
They sent me away. Due to the problems I had in Portugal, I didn’t want to risk playing in Europe anymore.
I’m happy, playing, and surrounded by my family”, he said.
Uchebo scored 5 goals during his second season with the team.
