The reports coming from Saint Mary the home of Southampton indicated that the club has commenced negotiations with the Turkish giant Besiktas for the transfer of Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo.
Aribo joined the Saints last summer from the Scottish giant Glasgow Rangers and has a run of good games under the former manager Ralph Hassenhuttl.
The change of manager and the poor form of the club affected the performance of the Nigeria international.
The management of the Turkish club arrived in England on Saturday evening and has opened the talks to secure the services of the Nigeria star.
An earlier return to the Scottish league is on the card for Aribo but the coming of Besiktas is set to change the situation.
Aribo’s contract with Southampton will run out in 2026 and if the total buy is not agreed upon, a loan offer could be on the card.
