Manchester United is reportedly chasing a bargain deal for Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
The former Stoke striker, 33, is nearing the end of his current deal with the German giants, and he has become a target for United.
They are said to be showing ‘strong’ interest in the Cameroon international. He is seen as a possible alternative to Cristiano Ronaldo, who is largely expected to leave Old Trafford once his contract concludes this season. As well as the Potters, Choupo-Moting also spent two years at Paris Saint-Germain.
United is seriously considering making an offer for the forward, who has netted eight goals in 13 appearances, ahead of a potential move next summer. But Bayern is reportedly keen to keep hold of the former Stoke forward and wants to offer him a new contract to remain in Germany.
