The interim coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons Justin Madugu has signified his intention to take up the appointment on a permanent basis.
Madugu has been in charge of the team since the contract situation of the team’s substantial coach Randy Waldrum is yet to be resolved.
The coach made the statement after leading the team to an emphatic 5-0 win over Cape Verde in the first leg of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations qualifier.
“Nobody will be unhappy to work for the progress of the country in any capacity. I will do my best to lift the team if given the opportunity,” he said.
Madugu is expected to be in charge of the team again when they play the same opponent next in the 2nd leg of the qualifier.
It’s yet to be seen if the Nigeria Football Federation will yield to his aspirations.
