After helping her club Leicester City Women’s team to survive relegation in the just concluded season, Nigeria’s Super Falcon defender Ashleigh Plumptre has said she wants to rest well ahead of the World Cup.
The Foxes defeated Brighton Hove Albion Women’s team by a lone goal with Plumptre playing a key role in the final league game.
While speaking on the team performance, Plumptre made it clear that they got what they deserved and further said she was to rest well to be in shape for Nigeria.
“I’m looking forward to a little bit of a break.
“I’ve got a few niggles here and there, so I just want time to rest, get on top of that and then try and be in the best shape possible to be able to represent Nigeria”, she said.
Plumptre is expected to be part of the Super Falcon team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
