Despite losing heavily in Abuja, the head coach of the Cape Verde female team Massia Tavares Cardoso has insisted that anything can happen in the second leg.
The Nigeria Super Falcons proved too much for Cape Verdan’s side hitting 5 goals from Uchenna Kanu, Esther Okoronkwo, and Gift Monday.
Despite the defeat, the coach is still talking tough but also admitted they came to learn from the Nigerian side.
” Before we came we knew the kind of team we were playing against.
We believe anything can happen in the second leg, we have hope though we know we are playing against one of the best teams in Africa.
We are learning and today we learned a lot and the second game will not be different.
We are improving with every game and our federation believes in female football.
We have 9 players that are playing outside the country but most of the players are playing in Cape Verde and we want to give them exposure so they can go and play abroad just like Nigeria”, she said.
