The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco is set to take place during the summer, the Moroccan Royal Federation of Football (FRMF) has confirmed.
This will mark the second time in history that the competition will be played in the summer after the 2019 edition in Egypt.
The decision comes to reduce scheduling conflicts with European club teams and competitions, that see their star players depart to play for their countries.
However, it’s yet to be seen how FIFA will handle the news, given that the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will also be played in the summer in the USA during the same period.
