Manchester City under Pep Guardiola will be looking to build on their impressive 0-4 demolition of Spanish side Sevilla away at the Estadio R. Sanchez Pizjuan when they take on Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium tonight in Group G game of the Champions League tonight.
It would be recalled that the Citizens won triumphed 2-1 in both legs when these two sides met at the Quarter Final stage of this competition.
The English Champions have since brought in the prolific Erling Braut Haaland into their fold from Dortmund and the Norwegian has already added two goals to his name in this season’s Champions League and will definitely be looking to prove a point to his former employers once again.
The German side on the other hand are not low in confidence as they also spanked FC Copenhagen 3-0 at the Signal Iduna Park to get their campaign up and running.
However, Dortmund are going into this game at the back of a 3-0 defeat to RB Lipzig in the Bundesliga and getting a good result at the Etihad could be a huge task on the shoulders of coach Edin Terzic couple with the injuries to key players like Thorgan Hazard and Mahmoud Dahoud.
The two sides are only separated by goal difference on the group table, so this tie presents an opportunity for either side to open a three points lead ahead of the rest of the pack, although City are slightly favorite due to current form and the results of their previous encounters.
