Nigeria’s Flamingoes attacker Opeyemi Opeyemi Ajakaiye has thanked the Nigerians for their support.
Flamingoes won their first game in the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in India with an emphatic 4-0 win over New Zealand.
Ajakaiye was not among the goalscorer but her amazing performance earned her a woman of the match award.
While reacting to the award given to her, the Nigerian player said “I dedicate my award to God, my teammates and my coaches for an outstanding performance! Our collective effort made a difference today, thank you to Nigerians back home for their support”, she said.
Meanwhile, a draw in the final group match will earn Flamingoes a quarter-final ticket after Germany defeated Chile 6-0 in the second game of the day.
