Tottenham Hotspur plans to open contract talks with Antonio Conte next month, with the club keen to secure his future.
Conte is approaching his first anniversary as Spurs’ head coach, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
Tottenham has an option to extend Conte’s contract by a further 12 months but will also discuss whether or not he would be prepared to sign a new deal with a longer commitment.
Conte earns around £15 million a year, and it is not known whether or not he would seek a pay rise to stay more than a further year, having already made significant progress with Tottenham.
With the Premier League due to breaking for the World Cup in November, Spurs see next month as the perfect time to open negotiations.
Conte decided to stay at Tottenham after guiding the club to Champions League qualification at the end of last season and being granted six new signings by chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici.
