The Confederation of African Football has released its official club ranking after the semi-final matches of the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
According to the latest release from the football body Moroccan clubs dominated the top 20 clubs with 4 teams and were closely followed by Egypt with 3 clubs.
Despite reaching the quarter-final of the Confederation Cup this year Rivers United missed out on the ranking.
The Pride of Rivers was ranked 18th in the previous ranking but it was never meant to be this time around.
The poor performance of the duo of Enyimba International and Remo Stars in the Champions League this season was responsible for the country’s ouster from the top 20.
Going by the region, North Africa has 12 clubs in the ranking with Southern Africa having 3 clubs and West Africa having 2.
