Champions Bayelsa Queens Thump Naija Ratels in final group game
The final group games of the Nigeria Women Football League were decided on Wednesday and it was a good outing for the league defending champion Bayelsa Queens in Yenagoa
The host dominated the proceedings from the blast of the whistle and they got their reward in the 17th minute through Chinyere Grace.
Falconets forward Sebatine Flourish made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute before Touta Evanick wrapped up the game in the 46th minute.
Naija Ratels put up an impressive performance in the second half but they were unable to reduce the deficit as the game ended 3-0.
The biggest talking point about the final day of the season was the game in Asaba where Delta Queens played out a 1-1 draw against former champions Rivers Angels, a result that meant that Head coach of Delta Queens Tosan Blackson becomes the first NWFL manager to finish the season unbeaten.
