French Ligue II side Girondin Bordeaux is set for a quick promotion to the elite division as their comfortable 3-0 victory on Monday evening places them in a steady position.
Bordeaux suffered relegation last season due to circumstances including financial constraints which bedeviled the club.
They hosted and trounced Grenoble 3-0 with Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Josh Maja scoring in the encounter.
Maja netted the opening goal in the 42nd minute and Georgia International Davistashivili scored the second goal 57th minute while Maja completed his brace in the 64th to hand Bordeaux a 3-0 win.
Maja has now scored 4 goals in the last 5 matches as he took his tally this season to 15 goals.
The victory now placed Bordeaux in the second position with 59 points behind Le Havre with 6 games to end the season.
