The Libyan pro league side Al Akhdar lived up to the expectations of their fans as they sent Nigeria’s Plateau United out of the confederation cup.
After losing the first leg by 4-1 last week, they needed to score at least 3 unreply goals to have a chance to qualify for the group stage.
Despite dominating the first half at the Benghazi city stadium they were unable to score as the half ended in a goalless draw.
They piled more pressure in the second stanza and they were able to score 2 goals in the 62nd and 87 minutes before getting the compulsory third goal in the 94th minute and ending the game 3-0.
They progressed to the group stage through the away goal rule after the game ended 4-4 over the two legs.
