Just as it happened to Rivers Angels last year, AS FAR of Morocco has ended the hope of Bayelsa Queens reaching the final of this CAF women’s champions league.
The Moroccan side walloped Rivers Angels 3-0 in the maiden edition of the competition in the year 2021.
Despite starting the competition on a shaky note, losing to the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns ladies, Bayelsa Queens bounced back strongly.
They secured back-to-back wins against TP Mazembe ladies of DR Congo and Wadi Degla of Egypt.
They confront one of the tournament favorites AS FAR of Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday evening and it ended in defeat for them.
It was Ibttisam Jraidi that netted the only goal of the game in the 27th minute and all the efforts of the Nigeria champions proved futile.
AS FAR will face Sundowns ladies in the final on Sunday after the South African side defeated Simba Queens of Tanzania by a lone goal.
Bayelsa Queens will play Simba Queens in the loser’s final on Saturday.
