Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) champions APR Basketball Club has defeated Qatari side Al Wakrah 108-80 in a friendly match to send a warning signal to Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers and others in their group.
Aimed at preparing APR for the upcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2024, the game took place in Doha, Qatar where the team is currently holding a training camp.
APR put up a good performance, leading the game in all four quarters, thanks to teamwork but althe so individual brilliance of players like Adonis Filer who scored 19 points while Michael Dixon added 17.
For BAL 2024, APR was placed in the Sahara Conference of BAL which will play from May 4-12 in Dakar, Senegal. The conference also comprises Tunisia’s US Monastir, AS Douanes of Senegal and Nigerian Champions Rivers Hoopers.
