Due to La Liga’s stringent financial rules, Barca has been struggling with serious financial problems that must be resolved.
In order to comply and sign new players, the Catalan giants effectively had to sell off a significant portion of their future revenue.
That includes Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, both strikers.
Along with Brazilian Raphinha from Leeds and Polish international Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, the team also added defenders Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen as well as midfielder Franck Kessie.
However, Barcelona still needs to appease La Liga and is currently seeking to use what is being referred to as a fourth “financial lever,” a sizable part in their commercial arm Barca Studios, in order to do so.
