Victor Boniface was on the scoresheet as Union Saint Gilloise played out a 1-1 draw with Bayern Leverkusen in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie at the BayArena in Germany
Ismael Bandouss could have given USG the lead in the 30th minute but had his shot hit the woodwork. Moussa Diaby and Pierco Hincapie also had chances to put Bayern Leverkusen ahead but couldn’t hit the target.
Boniface opened the scoring in the 51st minute when he connected with a pass from Teddy Teuma’s pass inside the box before putting the ball perfectly into the bottom right corner.
Seven minutes before the end of normal regulation time got the equalizer through German midfielder Florian Wirtz.
