The Court of Appeal has granted the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF stay of execution ahead of the forthcoming NFF elective congress. This literally means the NFF election will go on Friday, 30th September as scheduled.
Recall that on 15th of September 2022, a court order was given for the suspension of the NFF election by Hon. Justice Inyang Ekwo due to the demand by Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria) (PFAN) of an amendment to the NFF statutes 2010 for equal representation for all the five statutory bodies making up the Nigeria Football Federation in terms of voting rights and representation on the NFF Board, its Congress and Sub/Standing Committees.
On Thursday morning the NFF approached the court of appeal for stay of execution of the court order issued on 15th of September which was granted,and with this the NFF election will go ahead on the 30th of September 2022 at Benin city in Edo state as scheduled.
