It was a good outing for Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF champions league as both Rivers United and Plateau United secured a vital win at home.
Champions Rivers United has to come from a goal behind to win 2-1 courtesy of goals from Michael Ohahume and Paul Acquah.
Bouly Sambouly put Wydad Casablanca ahead in the 33rd minute but Ohahume levelled the game in the 35th minute and Acquah scored the winning goal in the 55th minute.
The same scoreline was recorded at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Plateau United also conceded first before scoring twice to earn a vital win.
Anice Badri put Espearance ahead in the 27th minute while goals from Emmanuel Ifeanyi and Mustapha Yuga secured a 2-1 for the Jos-based team.
The second will come up at the El Menzah stadium in Tunis next weekend.
